The Delta Zeta sorority house at the Greek Village on the campus of N.C. State is scheduled for completion in 2018. TerraTech’s involvement began with a geotechnical investigation of the site after the 1960’s era structure that formerly occupied the site was removed. Other than some older fill materials that were soft, subsurface conditions were generally found to be suitable for support of the structure. We also performed a Phase I environmental assessment of the property. The building is primarily a reinforced concrete structure with a basement, although some steel framing has been used for the upper levels. Our construction testing and special inspection services included soils and foundation testing, concrete quality control testing, verification of structural steel connections, and Special Inspections for these items.
